Corona is Spanish for “crown.” When I think of a crown, I definitely don't want to associate that with a virus. I think it’s time to be reminded that we will inherit a different type of crown 👑 in the Kingdom of God.
This verse is a powerful reminder to remain steadfast under trial. The Coronavirus and social distancing is a bit of a trial, but this too shall pass. This verse is also a reminder of God's promises. As followers of Christ, we have eternal hope and eternal inheritance. We grieve losses, but not without hope of a future in God's eternal Kingdom. Take heart, and keep your crown on!
If all the social distancing is making you a little stir crazy, then workout with me. Keep moving and keep dancing to “you should see me in a crown” by Billie Eilish. I must say I was quite surprised when God laid it on my heart to do a cardio video to this song, but when He revealed that He wanted me to tie it into the scripture it all made sense. He gave me a couple of confirmations. The moment He told me to do it, a flock of five geese flew over my car. Then I turned onto the next street and 3 fawns (deer) crossed the road in front of me. That may not sound that odd, but it was in the middle of broad daylight on a thoroughfare. I wasn't even close to hitting them, so it was definitely more of a peaceful, "WOW, God!" moment. God knows how much I love animals, especially geese (dogs are still #1). After working on the choreography for a couple of weeks, then I found out that corona was Spanish for "crown." Well played, God! I didn't see that coming.
If you open your heart to the idea of creating with God, not just for God, then He will surprise you with all sorts of creative ideas. I wanted to make sure some of the more secular lyrics would glorify Him, so He gave me the idea to punch out fear, shame, guilt, and death. Originally, I wasn't sure if I would put the key verse, James 1:12, in the video. I knew that I would put the verse in all the posts and promotions on social media. It wasn't until I went to edit the video footage that I realized the soft music at the intro was begging for the verse to fill that time. I definitely enjoyed creating this one from start to finish! I hope it points our focus back to the Creator.
This workout will get your heart rate up and torch some calories. Make sure you warm up first. You can mix this cardio dance into your current cardio routine or mix it in between strength training exercises as high-intensity interval training (HIIT). Enjoy!
