Yesterday I started practicing some Refit® choreography. I made a playlist of 24 songs/routines off of YouTube. I decided to grab my heart rate strap for the Garmin Vivofit 2 to see how many calories I was burning. I tracked the calories for 48 minutes of exercise, and I had burned 492 cal. Not too shabby, if I do say so myself!
It just goes to show you that dancing burns a lot more calories than the standard estimate they give you on a lot of fitness apps, which tends to be about 132 cal/hour. WRONG!!! Lol! I suppose it also depends on what type of dancing you are doing. The point is, the next time you do cardio feel free to skip the treadmill. Throw yourself a dance party, instead! Dance like nobody is watching, or dance like everybody is watching!!! I will leave that up to you. Just keep dancing!
